I love kettle corn! Yes, that's right. It is so delicious,
crunchy, sweet, salty...all the makings of a great snack. For a long
time I thought kettle corn was just popcorn popped in a kettle, and
had no idea of the salty sweet treat that it truly was. The first
time I realized that I loved kettle corn was a few weekends ago when
my niece was here and we went to the swap meet, she had mentioned several
times that she wanted popcorn and after many trips to the swap meet I
knew they had sold popcorn, so after paying our $1 entry fee we were
headed toward what would change my life forever!!! (Or just the way I
felt about popcorn)...Anyway, I bought her a decent sized bag of
popcorn for $3 and I bought myself a nice juicy burger (so much for
my "diet"), we sat down on the picnic table there and indulged
ourselves til we could no longer breathe. Eventually we got up from
the table and started walking around the swap meet looking through all the endless
junk, we found ourselves in this never ending tent full of hair
supplies, lip gloss, and toys. We bought a few hair clips and a
princess notebook for my niece, and were on our way home. Later that
evening after forgetting the popcorn and watching back to back to
back to back to back to back episodes of Spongebob Squarepants, I
opened the bag of what I thought was regular buttered popcorn and
took my first piece of the greatest snack on earth! At first I
thought maybe the makers of the popcorn had mistakenly mixed in some
caramel corn with the regular, but after going back to the swap meet
again this past weekend, I realized that kettle corn was not plain
popcorn popped in a kettle--no, it was deliciously fluffy heaven in a
bag!
